Protiviti offers three core early career programs:

1. Discover Protiviti – For candidates approximately two years from their final university graduation. This immersive event gives candidates exposure to consulting through project simulation, networking with Protiviti professionals at all levels, and engagement with our Employee Network Groups.  
2. Protiviti Internship – For candidates 6–12 months from their expected university graduation date. Our internship typically runs 6-8 weeks, during the summer starting in May or June. Interns work on real client projects, attend our award-winning Liftoff with Protiviti onboarding, participate in the Intern Challenge, our case-based simulation training, and are paired with a Peer Advisor, a Career Advisor, and a Leadership Link who coach and guide interns throughout the summer. Interns are evaluated for full-time consultant offers based on performance, engagement and business demand.
3. The Consulting Experience – For recent college graduates starting full-time. New consultants attend Passport to Protiviti (our onboarding program), the Consulting Challenge (a client-project simulation), and enter Foundations, which is a cohort that supports the transition into a consulting career with structured learning and mentorship opportunities.

During the internship, you will:

• Attend Liftoff with Protiviti, our award-winning hybrid onboarding experience.
• Participate in the Intern Challenge, a case-based learning course to prepare you for real-world consulting.
• Work on real client projects alongside experienced consultants.
• Be matched with a Peer Advisor, Career Advisor, and a Leadership Link for mentorship.
• Engage in office events, community service, and Employee Network Group activities.
• Be evaluated for a full-time consultant role at the end of the internship based on your performance, engagement, and business demand.

Yes. Interns are evaluated throughout the summer for a full-time consultant offer based on their performance, engagement, and business demand. Offers are extended at the end of the summer, once all interns have been evaluated. If you accept, you will return as a full-time Consultant and begin with our Passport to Protiviti onboarding and Consulting Challenge programs.

We recommend that you intern in a geographic location where you could see yourself thrive and grow as a full-time employee as transfers are limited.

Protiviti hires across a broad range of academic disciplines. Common areas of study include Accounting, Finance, Information Systems/Technology, Data Analytics, Business Administration, and Engineering related fields, but we welcome students from various academic backgrounds who demonstrate curiosity, strong analytical and communication skills, with an interest in consulting. Specific requirements vary by capability and are listed in each job posting.

Protiviti does not have a strict GPA cutoff. Strong academics are important, but we evaluate candidates holistically based on skills, experience, leadership, and potential.

Applicants must be 18 years of age at the time of the internship to be considered.

We meet students where they are, both physically and digitally, to create a welcoming experience. While each role may vary, a typical early career interview process includes:

• An initial conversation with a Protiviti Recruiter to review your work and/or academic background and skills, discuss the role, and confirm logistics.
• Prior to interviews, recruiting will collect an up-to-date academic transcript.
• A case interview with a practice member to assess your functional aptitude.
• A behavioral interview to evaluate leadership competencies and skills needed to signal success in consulting.
• A leadership conversation to gain meaningful exposure to our culture, our leaders, and what a career at Protiviti may look like.
   

We also offer optional conversations with peers and members of our Employee Network Groups (ENGs) through our ENG Connect program.

Yes. Offers of employment are contingent upon Protiviti's receipt of a satisfactory background check. The standard check covers criminal history, highest educational degree attained, prior employment verification, Social Security trace, and professional license verification where applicable.

Protiviti does not currently sponsor employment-based work authorization for candidates applying to early career positions, including Internships and new graduate roles. Protiviti practices a hybrid model, combining in-person with purpose and remote work to best support excellent work, connection and collaboration. Yes. Travel requirements vary by role, capability, and client engagement. Some projects are local, while others may require regional or out-of-state travel. Starting salary is based on a full-time equivalent schedule. Placement in the range is dependent upon experience, skills and geographic work location.

Protiviti provides a comprehensive benefits package to full time consultants, including:

Interns are compensated on an hourly pay rate, and are eligible to earn overtime pay. Interns do not receive relocation, and are expected to be in their local market office at the date of hire.
