Gaurav Bhatia

Protiviti Knowledge and Innovation Center, India

Gaurav Bhatia, Director of Protiviti's Knowledge and Innovation Center (PKIC), harnesses cutting-edge technology and collaborative strategies to propel the firm’s global operations into new levels of efficiency and innovation.

Gaurav joined Protiviti in 2014, bringing extensive experience in financial research and analytics. Under his leadership, PKIC has grown significantly, expanding from a team of 45 to nearly 200 professionals today.

"By automating routine tasks—such as generating and mapping risk statements, collating or analyzing data, Protiviti teams can allocate more time to strategic thinking and client engagement, which are critical components of our service delivery model."

Leveraging AI for Operational Efficiency

Gaurav has championed PKIC using Protiviti’s AI infrastructure and advanced automation tools to optimize key operational areas—saving time and improving output quality.

Gaurav emphasizes that the integration of AI empowers teams to deliver superior results with precision and speed. "By automating routine tasks—such as generating and mapping risk statements, collating or analyzing data, Protiviti teams can allocate more time to strategic thinking and client engagement, which are critical components of our service delivery model," says Gaurav. This approach has enabled various practices within Protiviti to handle highly complex projects efficiently, improving client satisfaction and trust.

For example, the team developed an automated website audit process using Protiviti’s AI Infrastructure, which significantly reduced manual efforts and improved accuracy.

"Innovation is at the core of what we do," says Gaurav. "We constantly strive to find better ways to serve our practices and support our colleagues."

It is clearly working. Between May 2024 to February 2025, PKIC’s introduction of AI-driven processes resulted in time savings of more than 2,100 hours, allowing teams to focus on higher-value activities and innovation.

Fostering a Collaborative Culture

Collaboration is a cornerstone of Gaurav's leadership style. He fosters a culture where employees are encouraged to learn, grow, and contribute to the collective success of the firm, and emphasizes the importance of teamwork and knowledge sharing, both within the PKIC and across Protiviti's global offices.

"The sum of parts is always greater than the individual," he notes. "Our collaborative efforts have led to remarkable achievements and strengthened our ability to deliver value."

Gaurav Bhatia's leadership at PKIC demonstrates innovation, collaboration, and excellence. By driving technological advancements and fostering a supportive work environment, Gaurav ensures PKIC continues to be a vital asset to Protiviti's global operations.
