Jeff Meyer

Managing Director

Jeff is a Managing Director in the Internal Audit and Financial Advisory group and serves as Protiviti’s west region public company transformation leader. He is an experienced finance and audit professional with over 20 years of experience. Jeff's experience includes external and internal audit leadership roles in both industry and public accounting in which he directed multiple SOX / Internal Audit implementation, financial control remediation, enterprise risk management and integration projects. Apart from his experience at Protiviti, Jeff worked as CFO for a private equity real estate investment firm, in finance and control leadership roles at a Fortune 500 mining company, and in external audit with EY in Salt Lake City.

Jeff is experienced in outsourced and co-sourced engagements ranging in duration from short-term assessments to multi-year process re-engineering programs. His responsibilities have included development and implementation of financial control remediation plans, implementation of public company readiness processes, and complex project management, including oversight of project deliverables, project timelines, personnel, and interactions with executive stakeholders.

Major Projects and Experience

  • Directed large-scale financial control remediation projects requiring execution and coordination of activities in various countries throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
  • Implemented process improvements and internal control framework for various pre-IPO companies. Responsibilities included performing company-wide risk assessments, developing process documentation, identifying key process / company level controls, and assisting management in addressing control gaps and process inefficiencies.
  • Directed the development and execution of risk based internal audit plans which consisted of direct oversight of multiple co-sourced internal audit teams in many geographic locations.
  • Key leader of the global SOX 404 / Internal Audit team of multi-billion dollar organization. Responsible for oversight and implementation of controls for all business units and corporate functions in North America and Europe.
  • Led SOX 404 integration workstream relating to $38 billion acquisition which included process analysis, and implementation of best practice standards.
  • Directed multiple Enterprise Risk Management projects which included analysis and recommendations regarding critical operational and strategic risks.
  • Led multiple large-scale audit engagements, gaining valuable hands-on integrated audit experience with publicly-traded and private clients in a variety of industries.
  • Extensive experience in financial and managerial accounting processes including financial statement close and consolidation, intercompany billing/reconciliation, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting.
