The challenge

Each annual privacy risk assessment restarted from zero: collecting structured inputs, validating what had changed against the prior year, and assembling the assessment workbook and executive presentation by hand, which represented roughly 45 to 66 hours of specialist time per cycle.

The assessment now runs as a repeatable cycle rather than an annual rebuild, with the same rigor and a fraction of the effort.

Our approach

Using Claude Code via Protiviti Forge, Protiviti built a Privacy Risk Assessment Builder skill that automates guided intake, input upload, year-over-year change validation and generation of both an assessment Excel workbook and an executive PowerPoint. The client put it to work on its live 2026 assessment cycle.

Impact

The tool reduced the assessment effort from an estimated 45 to 66 hours to just six to 10 hours per annual cycle. Because the skill carries forward guided intake, validation and reporting, each future assessment starts from the prior year's foundation instead of a blank page, turning a once-a-year rebuild into a repeatable cycle.
