AI Enablement, From First Training to Agentic Use Case Design

Chord Energy, a Texas-based oil producer, is rolling out AI across the enterprise through a broad adoption plan built on Anthropic's Claude and other capabilities.

 

The challenge

The company wanted organization-wide AI capability, from first exposure through advanced agentic use cases.

 

Our approach

A phased enablement program: initial training, then real-time use-case mentoring, then agentic subject-matter support for internal AI experts and citizen developers across the enterprise.

 

Impact

Active named-user base up 380% (+194 users) and monthly token consumption up 221% from April to June, backed by forward-deployed production support and custom-built observability tools for enterprise-wide usage visibility.

 

The challenge

Durable, organization-wide AI capability takes more than a training event. As adoption grew quickly, the company recognized it needed sustained support that could keep pace as its own team's ambitions moved from basic use cases to advanced agentic ones.

Our approach

Protiviti has supported Chord Energy's AI development through a mentoring program in place since March 2026:

  • Initial training
  • Real-time mentoring as end users develop their own use cases
  • Deeper subject-matter expertise on advanced agentic use cases, using Claude Cowork and Claude for Teams/Enterprise
  • A Protiviti-built dashboard, now in production, giving visibility into Claude usage across the enterprise and showing where adoption is taking hold and where it needs support

Protiviti also works with the team to understand, measure and monitor blockers such as training and tooling gaps company-wide.
