Birdies for Meals Finishes Strong

Brand Ambassadors Jennifer Kupcho and Matt Fitzpatrick team up to donate 151,500 meals through i on Hunger

Protiviti is pleased to announce the donation of 151,500 meals through the Birdies for Meals program!

At the beginning of 2021, Protiviti partnered with U.S. Hunger (formerly Feeding Children Everywhere) and brand ambassadors Matt Fitzpatrick and Jennifer Kupcho to create the Birdies for Meals program. With the goal of donating 100,000 meals in total, Protiviti pledged 1,000 meals for each Birdie made by Matt and Jennifer during the Major Championships in 2021. Following some stellar play from both golfers, the tally sat at 119,000 meals by way of 115 Birdies and 2 Eagles made across the 9 Majors.

To continue the program’s momentum and highlight the impressive play on-course, Protiviti extended the campaign through the Solheim Cup and Ryder Cup following qualifications by both Jennifer and Matt respectively. Protiviti pledged an additional 10,000 for each qualification, and added 5,000 more meals for every point Jennifer and Matt earned for their respective teams. After strong performances by both golfers, the program’s final tally is 151,500 meals.

A message from Protiviti CEO Joe Tarantino:

“We are thrilled at the results of the Birdies for Meals campaign and owe a special thank you to our partners, Feeding Children Everywhere, Matt Fitzpatrick and Jennifer Kupcho. World hunger is a cause that we care deeply about here at Protiviti and we are happy to extend our efforts in our i on Hunger program to the golf course while including Matt and Jennifer in this initiative.”

A message from U.S. Hunger CEO Rich Whitted:

"When Protiviti came to us earlier this year with the 'Birdies for Meals' campaign we were moved by their generosity. After a challenging year for families in need across the globe, their donation was a beacon of hope. We're at the end of the campaign and are about to distribute 151,500 meals...way above their initial pledge. We're proud to partner alongside Protiviti in the fight against hunger!"

A Similar Approach

Matt discusses what attracted him to Protiviti and how the brand’s core values align to his own.

"They want to be leaders in their market, they want to try new things and be the best they can be…that was similar to my views in life and golf."

Driven to Be the Best

Jennifer discusses what representing the Protiviti brand means to her as a woman in professional golf.

"For me I'd rather have a personal relationship with the brand…being the first woman they picked to represent them, I’m really excited to be that person and hopefully represent the brand well."

Meet Matt

Matt Fitzpatrick has quickly risen to the top of the golfing world. Winner of the 2013 U.S. Amateur Championship, Matt was the #1 ranked amateur in the World Amateur Golf Rankings at 19 years old. He received low amateur honors at both the 2013 Open Championship and the 2014 U.S. Open Championship, the first amateur golfer since Bobby Jones to accomplish both. Since turning professional, Matt has won 6 times on the European Tour, establishing himself as one of the world’s most prominent players. Matt also competed in the 2016 Ryder Cup, where he was the youngest member on the European Team. Off the course, Matt is a patron at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity and has a close affiliation with Cavendish Cancer Care, two causes local to Matt’s hometown of Sheffield.

Meet Jen

History-making champion of the inaugural Augusta National Women’s Amateur and the number one ranked female amateur player in the world prior to turning professional in May 2019, Jennifer Kupcho, made a remarkably swift entrance during her rookie season on the LPGA TOUR. Despite starting her professional career midway through the 2019 season, Kupcho wasted no time in securing her card for the 2020 season with three top-5 finishes. It was Kupcho’s T2 finish at the Evian Championship that not only sealed the deal and vaulted her up the rankings, but also verified her ability to compete at the highest level. Kupcho has continued to impress into her second full season on the LPGA and currently sits in the top-20 of the Rolex Women’s World Rankings.
