Mark Boheim

Mark Boheim is a Managing Director in the Business Performance Improvement (BPI) solution of Protiviti, with over 10 years of experience. Throughout his career, Mark has gained a wide breadth of knowledge regarding business combinations, financial reporting, technical accounting, internal and operational auditing, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and project management.

Mark primarily assists his clients through public company events, including IPO and SOX readiness, as well as providing technical accounting and financial reporting support based upon specific client needs.

Prior to joining Protiviti, Mark served as an external auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mark is a licensed CPA.

MAJOR PROJECTS

  • Led and supported multiple clients in assessing their public company readiness, including the design of detailed road maps to ensure timely achievement of key requirements for public company events. Additionally, assisted clients through the IPO and SPAC acquisition process, including evaluation of internal controls, assistance with implementing accounting standards such as ASC 842 and ASC 326, and development of key position papers and policies over critical accounting areas.
  • Assisted a $7 billion chemical manufacturing client with “Year One” SOX integration of a large multi-national acquisition. This included overall program management, assessment of the design of client’s control set across the globe, managing and monitoring remediation, and execution of controls testing.
  • Managed and supported multiple out-sourced and co-sourced Internal Audit and Sarbanes-Oxley engagements, leading efforts and helping to ensure achievement of plan, including multiple clients in the mining industry.
  • Extensive experience advising clients on internal controls implications of mergers and acquisitions, including business combination processes and controls. Additionally, assisted in integration management for multiple integration efforts, including integration of control programs and standardization of processes across sites.
  • Managed and led multiple engagements to assist clients with their needs to become ASC 842 compliant. One such engagement included leading a team to perform data abstraction for over 1,000 leases for a large, global manufacturing client. Assisted multiple clients in migrating to the COSO 2013 framework, including assessments of gaps and associated remediation, as well as advising clients with regard to fraud risk assessment procedures.
  • Performed internal audits for various clients, including procurement, fixed assets, customer care, accounts receivable and collections, operational reviews, and reviews of other accounting processes and procedures.
