The challenge

Struggling with a highly customized Sage 300 system nearing end of life support, this client faced internal IT resource limitations and an impending shift to outsourced management of its ERP. The platform lacked automation and modern capabilities, forcing lean teams into manual, unsustainable workarounds. Fragmented data and weak process controls led to inconsistent practices, poor data integrity, and no single source of truth. As a result, leadership relied on delayed, often outdated reports, hindering timely, informed decision-making.

The solution

Protiviti began with a technology-agnostic future-state solution design, helping the organization clearly define and prioritize its business requirements. This foundation enabled a structured, business-led system selection process where leading vendors demonstrated their platforms against those requirements. Following this evaluation, the company selected Oracle Cloud Fusion as its future platform.

The client then led a formal RFP to identify a system integrator, with Protiviti ultimately chosen from a competitive field to support implementation, and ultimately, long-term application support.

The first phase of the transformation program enabled standardization for back-office processes across accounting, finance, and supply chain, with additional operations-centric Oracle modules on the roadmap to be deployed enterprise-wide in subsequent phases.
