Jacob is a Director with over 10 years’ experience leading teams to deliver internal audits, technology risk, payment integrity and project assurance reviews. He brings broad experience across multiple industries including energy and utilities, financial services, public hospital and health services and Queensland government departments.

He is recognised for his ability to deliver complex engagements and hands on approach to delivery to ensure the work provides value to his clients. Jacob is also an advocate for utilisation of innovative approaches such as artificial intelligence to engagements to support his team spending time where it matters most to provide his clients with greater insights and value.

Major projects

  • Technology Risk for Financial Services - Jacob leads a team delivering technology risk assurance against the APRA Prudential Standard CPS234 Information Security. The review includes development and delivery of an annual assurance program to assess the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls to protect critical systems and information assets.
  • Program and Project Assurance – Jacob has led the delivery of multiple program and project assurance assessments for major technology and business initiatives for financial services, energy and utilities and state government clients to ensure deliverables were achieved within scope, time, and budget. Each assurance approach is tailored to the client’s environment and includes the evaluation of project governance, benefits realisation, risk mitigation and stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Payment Integrity and Remediation – Jacob has led and delivered multiple national payment assurance programs assessing the accuracy of payments made to individuals, including payroll and payroll remediation for large corporates and social service payments by government departments. Assurance methodologies have included assessment of the underlying data integrity, alignment of organisational methodologies with legal obligations and accuracy of calculations performed by supporting systems.
  • Co-sourced and Outsourced Internal Audit – Jacob has led the outsourced and co-sourced internal audit services for multiple Queensland government, public hospital and health care and corporate clients. This included regular engagement with senior executives, development of annual audit plans, scheduling and delivery of audit activities.
