Professional Background
David is the Managing Director who leads Protiviti’s Central United States Internal Audit practice. He also leads the Information Technology Internal Audit practice globally. He has extensive experience in the areas of Information Technology Auditing, Computer Aided Auditing Techniques, Audit Formation, Risk Assessments, Quality Assurance Reviews, and Board Reporting. He has led audit teams for some of our largest clients and both publishes and speaks on various audit topics regularly.
 
Professional Experience
  1. Leads Protiviti’s Internal Audit Practice in the Central United States comprised of over 200 personnel providing services to hundreds of clients
  2. Leads Protiviti’s IT Audit Practice Globally. This includes setting the strategy for IT Audit, creating marketing to further the profession, addressing emerging risks in the market, creating Protiviti solutions to address market needs and working with regional leaders to develop resources necessary to advance IT Auditing
Representative Engagements Include
  1. Manages a co-sourced Internal Audit relationship with a $25 billion professional services firm. Throughout the span of this relationship, he coordinated and administered the Internal Audit budget for a 30 FTE department including the completion of a risk assessment, the coordination of a global audit plan, the generation of an annual calendar, the initiation of a quarterly executive management review process and the preparation and delivery of the Audit Committee updates
  2. Manages a co-sourced Internal Audit relationship with one of the largest Insurance companies in the world. As part of this relationship, he participates in their management leadership meetings to provide external perspective on the continuous improvement of the department. He also oversees the delivery of Internal Audit Services to the organization
  3. Assisted a $4 billion consumer products company develop their Internal Audit strategy. This included determining stakeholder needs, evaluating the risk profile of the organization, designing the audit department organizational structure, determining the appropriate headcount, determining the appropriate skills, analyzing the use of third parties, re-designing the audit committee reporting and evaluating the audit reports
  4. Has completed dozens of Quality Assurance Reviews for companies across all industries and ranging in size from the Fortune 50, to small regional companies
  5. Publishes an annual IT Audit Benchmarking Survey
  6. Has presented at GAM, IIA AllStar, Superstrategies and numerous regional conferences on various Internal Audit topics
