Matthew is a Managing Director in Protiviti’s Technology Consulting practice. He has extensive experience leading large programs and providing technology implementation and risk advisory services for clients in a variety of industries. Prior to joining Protiviti, he served as a Communications and Computer Information Systems officer in the United States Air Force.
Led multiple implementation risk management engagements for clients in a variety of industries designed to assess the effectiveness of the implementation effort and devise strategies to increase the likelihood of implementation success. Projects spanned all aspects of the project lifecycle including initiation, planning, execution, closing, and monitoring.
Led multiple business impact analysis and business resumption strategy development efforts for clients across industries. Key activities included identifying critical business process and IT asset interdependencies, documenting business process and IT asset recovery time objectives, determining minimum requirements necessary to recover business operations, and developing critical business process resumption plans.
Served in the lead PMO role for the implementation of an Anti-Money Laundering software solution (6 work streams, 35+ resources, 15,000+ hours) for a national financial services company. Oversaw activities associated with the requirements definition, design, build, test, and installation of the software designed to detect suspicious trades, transactions, and money movements.
Served in the overall program manager role for an application development initiative (7 work streams, 25+ resources, 65,000+ hours) for a national industry association. Oversaw the planning, requirements definition, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of five custom application tracks and supporting processes.
Led an Asset Lifecycle Management engagement (3 work streams, 50+ resources, 20,000+ hours) with a wireless carrier designed to enhance their asset tracking processes, controls and systems, along with SAP financials integration to help address control weaknesses related to asset tracking. Successfully reconciled approximately $3.5B in assets while completing a high-level design, detailed design and implementation, and fixed asset sub-ledger alignment.
Led a merger integration planning and execution effort (7 work streams, 8 resources, 6,000+ hours) for a national retail REIT. Oversaw activities associated with standing up the merger integration PMO office, developing the initial integration plan, leading the work streams through the deal execution date, and managing the integration execution activities post deal close.
Led the implementation of a portfolio risk analysis application for a global retail brokerage company. Directed activities across the system development lifecycle including planning, requirements definition, design, testing, and implementation of software designed to assess portfolio risk and optimize asset allocations.
Directed the efforts associated with the development and implementation of an asset management roadmap for a top 5 wireless carrier. Key activities included defining the process and controls for monitoring the environment to ensure system synchronization, ensuring cross functional communication, reviewing the soft cost and software asset management process, and refining the retirement process and controls.
