Tone at the Top: Making it Real for Higher Education
"Tone at the Top" refers to governance and risk management practices at the organization's most senior levels. It reflects support for ERM by leadership and reflects good risk culture. In corporate entities, Board of Directors and Senior Management need to demonstrate they are accountable stakeholders. Additionally, the Chief Risk Officer role has evolved from reporting after the fact to being part of the dialogue that proactively considers risks, including strategic and reputational. The maturing of the commercial sector's ERM practices can provide lessons, approaches and techniques for our higher education environment. This interactive session will discuss "Tone at the Top" sound practices and potential applicability in the higher education environment.
