St. Louis CAE Roundtable
The St. Louis Office will host their quarterly CAE Roundtable discussing the following topics:
- Digitialization - What Does This Mean to Internal Audit?
Deployment of technology to reduce costs, improve business processes and increasingly drive revenue expansion is altering the way companies operate. This is often referred to as digitalization. So what is digitalization? How does it differ from the general use of information systems, computerization, IT, e-commerce, e-business, big data, and the many other technology-fueled business trends of the past several decades? And if it’s not different, why did we need a new term? And, why is it important to internal audit?
- Disruptive Change and Enterprise Risk management
Internal audit has an inherent and mandated responsibility to help the organization proactively manage its key risks. When something goes wrong, one of the inevitable questions will be “where was internal audit?” It all comes down to: telling the audit committee what they don’t already know. The goal is to help keep the organization ahead of the game when it comes to disruptive change. What is disruptive change? What is internal audit’s role in helping the organization get and stay ahead of the disruption curve? How can the new COSO ERM Framework assist with this process?
- Other Topics & Discussion
We will briefly follow up on the revenue recognition, cybersecurity and internal audit tools topics previously discussed.
