Business Disruptions Seminar

Business Disruptions Seminar

Join us as we answer both questions with a mix of expert “TED style” talks and panel discussion at a luncheon on Election Day, November 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Chicago Athletic Association on Michigan Avenue.

Digital disruptors are technologies that bring about enormous change to create major opportunities for businesses and threaten today’s traditional business models.

What are Blockchain, Ethereum and IoT?

Experts will explain in “TED Style” talks at a grassroots level. Among several contributors are:

  • Dave Ripley, co-founder and CEO of bitcoin app provider Glidera, will share Blockchain basics on how a “public ledger” technology disrupts business.
  • Conrad Barski, author of “Bitcoin for the Befuddled” will explain smart contract platform Ethereum.

Next, a panel answers “Are We There Yet?” with recent research on plans for the “Autonomous Era,” including self-driving cars and drones, and their predicted impact on 10 major industries.

  • Jochen Renz, an electronics engineer from Stuttgart and founder and director of New Mobility Consulting, will provide context for our panel, with his expertise in Connected Car, Autonomous Driving and E-Mobility.

Our keynote speaker Rumi Morales, Executive Director of CME Ventures, will kick off the event by placing these disruptions in perspective for us.
