Curt Dalton is a Managing Director and Global Leader of Protiviti's security and privacy practice. He has more than 30 years of experience in managed security services and privacy with a special focus on cybersecurity issues.
Prior to joining Protiviti, Dalton served as the lead for North America Security Strategy and Risk at the largest global consulting firm, where he developed new service offerings including cybersecurity risk quantification and monetization, Privacy as a Service managed offering, a proactive and real time third party risk capability, and an agile approach to performing cybersecurity risk assessments in order to improve efficiencies, reduce customer costs, increase downstream revenue and improve customer alignment.
Earlier in his career, Dalton was Vice President of executive advisory at Optiv where he developed the executive advisory vision, charter and milestones. He also served as senior Vice President and Chief Information Risk & Security Officer at Pactera and Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at Sapient, focused on global information security, physical security, information disaster recovery and business continuity.
An industry thought leader, Dalton developed an early pre-commercial firewall and soon after a pre-commercial data loss prevention solution. Dalton has authored dozens of articles in popular publications and is the co-author of the book ‘Security Architecture: Design, Deployment & Operations,’ published in 2001 by Osborne/McGraw-Hill. In 2012, Dalton was named a ‘Top Security Executive’ in the U.S. (Exec Rank).
Dalton is certified as a CISSP, a CISM and an ISO 27001 ISMS Lead Auditor & Implementer. He is a member of ISC2, ISSA, ISACA and IAPP and an advisory board member for several industry organizations. Dalton studied computer science at Northeastern University, holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
