Barbara has over 25 years of experience serving the financial services industry, including asset management companies, credit unions, banks, broker/dealers and merchant credit card processing companies throughout the course of her career. Barbara joined Protiviti in July 2002.
Engagement lead for a large alternative asset management company with over $90 billion in assets under management. Nature of services provided includes year one and ongoing SOX services across multiple public entities over the past 8 years; internal audit design assessments across a variety of corporate operations, including fee revenue process, administrative fee process; policy and procedure design, and system segregation of duties assessments.
Engagement lead for internal audit and Sarbanes-Oxley 404 Compliance services provided to a variety of financial services organizations, ranging from Fortune 500 to smaller, privately held institutions. Experience includes all operational aspects of the industry, including but not limited to commercial, real estate, construction, & consumer lending, finance & accounting, deposit operations, investments/asset liability management including derivatives/hedging.
Led consulting engagements with a large mortgage lender, which has focused on mortgage and secondary market activities, providing engagement quality assurance services, and oversight & management of enterprise risk assessment services.
Over nine years experience at Arthur Andersen providing financial statement audit services, internal audit services, process re-engineering/efficiency reviews and risk management consulting for financial services organizations. Experience includes evaluating effectiveness of bank credit review functions, as well as performing detailed loan file review for various loan segments, including commercial, real estate, asset based lending.
Prior to Andersen, more than six years of private industry internal audit experience as an internal audit manager at Western Federal Savings and Loan, and First Interstate Bank of California, a $3.5 million and $20 billion dollar financial institution, respectively. Primary areas of emphasis included commercial and consumer lending, investments/treasury, branch and back office operations, and finance/accounting functions.
