Brian Christensen is a member of Protiviti’s Executive Leadership Team and is the global leader of the firm’s Internal Audit and Financial Advisory Solution. In this role he is responsible for the development and execution of Protiviti’s internal audit products. He has more than 30 years of experience in helping clients increase the value of their internal audit function. This includes overall responsibility for internal audit efforts ranging from co-sourcing to full outsourcing on relationships, including communication with management and audit committees around risk and risk-related matters.
He previously served as the Regional Managing Director for the Western U.S., as well as the firm-wide industry head for Protiviti’s Media, Hospitality and Services practise and is the firm’s airline practise leader. As a founding managing director of Protiviti at its formation in 2002, Brian has held various leadership roles in the firm’s solution and operating groups prior to his current responsibilities. He was a partner with Arthur Andersen prior to Protiviti. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a frequent speaker on auditing and risk topics at national conventions.
Served as the senior Protiviti executive on numerous internal audit co-sourcing / outsourcing engagements ranging from limited process reviews to comprehensive risk assessments and correlated audit execution.
Frequently interacts with senior executive and boards on risk and process matters. This has included special investigations of sensitive as well as routine items.
Responsible for the oversight and fieldwork of numerous Sarbanes-Oxley projects. This included the design, execution and related communication of the project to the various constituents, including management, audit committees and external auditors.
