Social Responsibility

At Protiviti, we value the importance of being a good corporate citizen, and as such, we constantly hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards both in the workplace and outside of it. Integrity, inclusion and innovation are the core values under which we operate. We believe in doing the right thing even if it may compromise our short-term profitability. We don’t waver from the truth or crater under pressure. We are willing to be sufficiently creative and flexible, but always operate under a high moral, ethical and legal standard.

Our commitment goes beyond our clients and extends into the places in which our people live and work. Protiviti employees around the world are making strides in bettering their communities thanks to the efforts of local committees devoted to coordinating philanthropy projects throughout the year. In addition, Protiviti believes in each employee’s potential to effect change in his or her community, and to that end, the company provides several avenues to support employees’ individual efforts, including a matching-gifts program and grants for employees to contribute to the non-profit organizations where they volunteer.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of Robert Half, we are proud to follow in the footsteps of our parent company’s commitment to corporate citizenship. Robert Half's community relations programs focus on education and workforce development initiatives and encourage employees to connect with the communities where they live and work. The company is proud of the relationships developed with a select group of national and international nonprofits, and also supports charitable organizations through matching gifts, volunteer events, and corporate grants and scholarships.

iCare – Protiviti’s Community Involvement Program

Protiviti’s vision and culture are centered around giving back to our communities and emphasizing participation in service opportunities alongside our colleagues and clients, globally and locally. We encourage our professionals to determine the civic-involvement opportunities that are most important to them and are proud to support employees and their selected and approved charities through initiatives such as our matching-gifts and ‘Dollars for Doers’ programs.

i on Hunger – A Global Effort to Feed Hungry People and Improve Lives

Protiviti’s global service program, i on Hunger, reflects our values and beliefs by allowing us to give back to our communities through the organizations we serve, creating a lasting impact on recipients. Since 2014, we have provided more than eleven million meals to hungry people around the world by partnering with leading hunger relief organizations and bringing together our people and our clients in meal packing and meal delivery efforts globally. With a spotlight on sustainable impact, we aim to improve food availability, quality and utilization as well as reduce demand by helping to attack the root causes of hunger.

The ‘i on Hunger’ program has been recognized with numerous awards for its community service efforts, including:

  • St. John’s University’s International Medal, awarded for distinguished contributions to international goodwill (2019)
  • NACE (National Association of College and Employers) Recruiting Excellence Award for bringing the program to university campuses (2018)
  • American Business (“Stevie”) Silver Award for Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year (2018)
  • "Best in Biz" Silver Award for Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year (2018)
  • Excellence in Social and Community Investment Achievement Award, Consulting magazine (2015 and 2017)

Sustainability and the Protiviti Green Team

As a professional services business, our carbon footprint – with its associated climate change risks – is low when compared to those of most other companies. As we grow, we always have environmental impact as a priority in our decision making, including proximity to public transportation, building recycling programs and building certifications (such as LEED certification).

In the last few years, we have reduced our paper usage by using more digital materials and have transitioned from standard desktop computers to smaller more efficient laptops. We have increased the use of remanufactured toner cartridges and we regularly donate old pieces of electronic equipment to nonprofit organizations or work with e-waste companies to recycle component parts, such as copper and metal.

Protiviti’s Green Team, comprised of employees from around the world, regularly publishes internal articles that focus on sustainability issues, promotes contests to connect our people across the globe in environmental causes, and organizes local and company-wide initiatives.

iCare in Action

Protiviti recognizes that volunteerism is the most direct way our employees can impact their communities. Therefore, we encourage our professionals to determine the civic-involvement opportunities that are most important to them. In addition, we are proud to support employees and their selected and approved charities through programs such as our matching-gifts program. Some examples of Protiviti’s many community service activities include:

  • Supporting our CommUnity Scholarship programs in Chicago and Atlanta, where employees raise funds to provide renewable college scholarships to local students in need of assistance to pay college fees
  • Supporting Junior Achievement with voluntary in-classroom teaching plus fundraising bowl-a-thons all over the country
  • Annual participation since 2002 in the Houston to Austin MS 150 two-day bike ride, raising money for the Multiple Sclerosis – Lone Star Chapter

  • Supporting ‘Hope Lodge,’ which provides free, temporary residential lodging for cancer outpatients and their caregivers in New York, with two annual fund-raising events

  • Fielding teams for the Dallas HIV/AIDS Walk, Boston American Heart Walk, New York Breast Cancer Walk, Orlando ‘Light the Night’ Walk and the Phoenix ‘Walk to End Alzheimers’ event
