Social Responsibility

At Protiviti, we value the importance of corporate social responsibility and as such, we constantly hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards both in the workplace and outside of it. Integrity, inclusion and innovation are the core values under which we operate. We believe in doing the right thing even if it may compromise our short-term profitability. We don’t waver from the truth or crater under pressure. We are willing to be sufficiently creative and flexible but always operate under a high moral, ethical and legal standard.

Our CSR commitment goes beyond our clients and extends to the places where our people live and work. Protiviti employees around the world are making strides in bettering their communities, thanks to the efforts of local committees devoted to coordinating the philanthropy projects throughout the year. In addition, Protiviti believes in each employee’s potential to effect change in their community and provides several avenues to support employees’ individual efforts, including a matching-gifts programme and grants for employees to contribute to the non-profit organisations where they volunteer.

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Robert Half, we are proud to follow in the footsteps of our parent company’s commitment to corporate citizenship. Robert Half's community relations programmes focus on education and workforce development initiatives and encourage employees to connect with the communities where they live and work. The company is proud of the relationships developed with a select group of national and international nonprofits, and also supports charitable organisations through matching gifts, volunteer events, and corporate grants and scholarships.

iCare – Protiviti’s Community Involvement Programme

Protiviti’s vision and culture are centered around giving back to our communities and emphasising participation in service opportunities with our colleagues and clients, globally and locally. We encourage our professionals to determine community-involvement opportunities that are most important to them and are proud to support employees and their selected and approved charities through initiatives such as our matching-gifts and ‘i on Hunger’ programme.

i on Hunger – A Global Effort to Feed Hungry People and Improve Lives

Protiviti’s global service programme, i on Hunger, reflects our values and beliefs by allowing us to give back to our communities through the organisations we serve, creating a lasting impact on recipients. Since 2014, we have provided more than twelve million meals to hungry people around the world by partnering with leading hunger relief organisations and bringing together our people and our clients in meal packing and meal delivery efforts globally. With a spotlight on sustainable impact, we aim to improve food availability, quality and utilisation as well as reduce demand by helping to attack the root causes of hunger.

The ‘i on Hunger’ programme has been recognised with numerous awards for its community service efforts, including:

  • Communitas award for Excellence in Community Service and Social Responsibility (2015)
  • Excellence in Social and Community Investment Achievement Award, Consulting magazine (2015 and 2017)

Sustainability and the Protiviti Green Team

As a professional services business, we markedly emphasise on social and environmental responsibilities and due to it, our carbon footprint – with its associated climate change risks – is low when compared to most other companies. As we grow, we always have environmental impact as a priority in our decision making, including proximity to public transportation, building recycling programmes and building certifications (such as LEED certification).

At Protiviti Australia, we have reduced our paper usage by using more digital materials and have transitioned from standard desktop computers to smaller more efficient laptops. We have increased the use of remanufactured toner cartridges and we regularly donate old pieces of electronic equipment to non-profit organisations or work with e-waste companies to recycle component parts, such as copper and metal.

Protiviti’s Green Team, comprising of employees from around the world, regularly publishes internal articles that focus on environmental sustainability issues, promotes contests to connect our people across the globe in environmental causes, and organises local and company-wide initiatives.

iCare in Action

Protiviti encourage our professionals to determine the community serving opportunities that are most important to them. Some examples of Protiviti’s many community service activities include:

  • Organising holiday toy drives for local hospitals and shelters
  • Protiviti’s iGROWW hosting an internal clothing donation drive to donate to various non-profits across Australia.
  • Canberra team participating in the Gift of Life Walk and raising awareness for organ and tissue donation and the national organ donor register.
  • The Smith Family Donations on Christmas – raising funds to support education of disadvantaged Australian children through ‘The Toy and Book Appeal’ in collaboration with Smith Foundation. Protiviti Australia also agreed to match the total donations to encourage and celebrate social responsibility.
