NSW Chapter AEN Meeting

NSW Chapter AEN Meeting

Prosecutions relating to foreign bribery and corruption have increased around the world and can impact both personal and company reputation. Consequences may include criminal action, civil penalties and other adverse sanctions aside from the reputational impact. Organisations that deal with overseas operations or that use agents or intermediaries are always at risk of bribery and corruption issues which require oversight and inclusion in internal audit programs.

This session will provide an overview of:

  • size, scope, and impact of bribery and corruption;
  • case studies of prosecutions to highlight the risks;
  • ways that bribery and corruption risk can be mitigated by ensuring a compliance program is in place to prevent, detect, and respond; and
  • areas to consider when auditing anti-corruption programs.
