Professional Experience
Scott is a Managing Director with Protiviti, and the leader of our firm’s West Region Financial Services Industry (FSI) Internal Audit and Financial Advisory (IAFA) Practice. He is also a member of our Firm’s 6-member Global FSI Leadership Council. Overall, he has over 30 years experience with financial institutions. He was formerly with Arthur Andersen – and was a founding Managing Director with Protiviti in 2002. He is a Certified Public Accountant and an Attorney-at-Law.
 
Representative Engagements Include
  1. Extensive experience in consulting financial service companies on operational, financial, and compliance processes, focusing on internal controls, risk management, process efficiencies, best practices, process re-engineering, and regulatory compliance
  2. Experience assisting mortgage related businesses audit/review, enhance, and re-engineer all aspects of their operations. Former experience has included Ameriquest Mortgage, Countrywide, and numerous community banks with mortgage operations
  3. Participated in numerous consulting projects with financial institutions, including the restructuring efforts of a $40 billion multi-state institution, post-acquisition integration and analysis for a $50 billion institution, and providing strategic planning for a $3 billion institution before/after take over by the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC)
  4. Experience includes 8 years in private industry with large financial service organizations. Experience includes all aspects of commercial, consumer and mortgage lending, bank operations, trust, and regulatory compliance
  5. Experienced in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), as well as all aspects of consumer and commercial banking regulations
  6. Experienced in developing, directing, administering, and executing risk-based internal audit plans
  7. Experience assisting financial institutions develop, implement, enhance, and assess cost-effective Enterprise Risk Management functions
  8. Project management experience includes oversight responsibility for over 150 Sarbanes-Oxley Act, Section 404 engagements – ranging from 2,000 to 10,000 hours of efforts
